Nuneaton, in the north east of the county of Warwickshire. Once a small hamlet listed in the doomsday book, is now a lively modern town. Its most famous ex-resident was Mary Ann Evans, or George Elliot. Many of the civic buildings and indeed the area around are named after her.

On the edge of the Warwickshire coal field, and with its textile industry developing, the town grew rapidly following the industrial revolution and further developed with the growth of manufacturing in Coventry and Birmingham.

Following damage sustained during the bombing raids of the second world war, much of the town center has been rebuilt, and consequently is not as characterful as some places, but it has been pedestrianised and has some reasonable shops.

Want to experience something new then try the Kilimanjaro climb a complete contrast to any modern town.

For all aspects of driveway gates and wrought iron garden gates then why not visit county metals.
